About Bonded Carpet:
Bonded Carpet, Cleaning, Sales and Services, Inc has been
serving the entire San Diego County for over 36 years.
In 1975, Bonded Carpet and Drapery was established in the La
Mesa area of San Diego, California. Initially the company offered only
carpet steam cleaning and drapery dry cleaning, to mainly apartment
complexes in East County.
Ten years later in 1985, M. Adler Enterprises, Inc. purchased the
assets of “Bonded Carpet and Drapery” and began the expansion of the
services and product lines. The intention was to offer a complete “One
stop shop” for property management’s need in regards to flooring and
window covering.
Under the new leadership of Bonded Carpet’s President Mitch
Adler, Bonded’s growth was impressive. Mr. Adler tells how he was
new to the San Diego area from Toronto, Canada, when he heard of
a near bankrupt company called “Bonded Carpet and Drapery”. As
Mr. Adler claims, “I knew nothing at the time about carpet cleaning,
however my background was business and I could see the potential.
At the time, computers were limited, so my wife and I would spend
evenings counting invoices that were stored in shoeboxes to verify
sales! Based on these “shoebox records” and my “gut feeling”, we
purchased the assets! I should mention, “We invested every penny we
had and began to work 7 days a week!”
Mitch Adler goes on to tell how the previous owner was to meet
him early on his first day and to train him and he never saw him after
the close of escrow. Unfortunately, on this very same day, three out of
four service vans broke down before the end of their routes. Mr. Adler
remembers thinking; “It was a very sad, frustrating day”, “I wondered
what I got myself and my wife into?”
However, Bonded Carpet and Mr. Adler prevailed! Bonded
Carpet’s philosophy was to always strive to exceed our customer’s
expectations. Bonded wanted their clients to know that Bonded’s
trained technicians were proud of their work and would go that “extra
mile” for their clients. Overtime, Bonded’s honesty, value and high
business ethics were rewarded with repeat customers and referrals. As a
result, our business grew!
As Mr. Adler recalls, we realized that if we kept our customers
delighted and they trusted us with their carpet and drapery cleaning
services, then possibly they would be open to try other services and
products that we could offer to make their jobs easier.
Over the years, Bonded expanded its product lines to include;
drapery sales, mini and vertical blind sales, as well as sales of all types
of new flooring, such as, carpeting, vinyl, hardwood, tile and laminates.
Again, it was Mr. Adler’s policy that all products sold by Bonded,
would be installed by Bonded employees. He knew that the installation
services that you give to your customers are what makes them come
back. Installation crews were hired, service vehicles purchased and the
rest is history!
Services offered by Bonded Carpet were also expanded
and changed over the years. Demand for 24 hours, 7 days a week
emergency flood and smoke service was required, as well as new
technologies to combat smoke or pet odors. Recently, air duct and
dryer vent cleaning was added as air quality and allergies become a
major concern.
Before long, Bonded Carpet’s fleet of service vehicles were
visible and seen everywhere! From apartments to military bases,
to commercial sites, such as hospitals, offices, schools etc. Bonded
became the trusted expert. It was at this time that many residential
customers demanded the same services and products for their personal
homes and condo’s.
Then in 2003, Bonded Carpet grew once again by purchasing
the flooring assets of J&M Flooring. Today Bonded Carpet Cleaning,
Sales and Services, Inc. is one of the recognized leaders in the
carpet cleaning and flooring replacement business for the property
management and rental industry. Through word of mouth advertising,
Bonded has become very involved in the residential, commercial and
retail market places. In 2010 they were voted Best Local Flooring store
by the San Diego Union Tribune readers
Bonded is known for having the best pricing in town, combined
with a remarkable, dependable group of qualified employee installers.
This hiring practice is more expensive, claims President Mr. Adler,
but this control of having an employee, rather than an independent
sub-contractor, gives both our customer and us, not only a great deal
of “peace of mind” but raises the quality of everything we install.
Bonded’s management team, is in control, before, during, and after
the installation. We even have a field customer service department and
sales force that meets with the on site managers giving free estimates,
measuring and offering advice. Usually for apartments, we measure one
day, and install the next!
People like to come to Bonded’s friendly showroom. We invite
you to walk through our large modern warehouse. You can see the
huge stock on hand, “ready for next day” installation. Bonded passes
on a huge savings to its customers, as we buy directly from the mills,
usually in truck loads, cutting out all the middlemen. Whether it be
from Dalton Georgia, or a specialty mill in Los Angeles, Bonded buys
it right and ships in the most efficient way. “The bottom line is, we
enjoy being a low cost leader as we pass on the savings directly to our
customers!” We do it right the first time,” claims Flooring Director,
John Russell.
Today, Bonded employs over 71 people, running 40 crews
of flooring installers and 11 “state of the art” steam-cleaning units
daily. As Mr. Adler states “Bonded Carpet has grown from satisfied
repeat users who have recommended us to their friends, families and
